What the fields mean

Back Stake
What you bet at the bookmaker.
Back Odds
The bookmaker's price, in decimal.
Lay Odds
The exchange price to bet against the same team.
Lay Commission
Your exchange's commission on winnings, as a percentage. It differs by exchange and account, so check yours.
Lay Stake / Exchange Liability
What to place at the exchange, and the most it can cost you there.
Qualifying Loss
What you lose if the offer doesn't fire. Usually small.
Early Cash Out
If your team goes two up, the bookmaker pays you out. Enter the exchange back price at that moment to close the lay, or leave the lay running for the comeback.
Expected Value / Average Success
An estimate based on how often teams at these odds go two up. It is a long-run average, not a promise for any one bet.

How a 2UP works

  1. Back your team at a bookmaker running 2 Up & You Win.
  2. Lay the same team at the exchange for the stake above. The two bets cover each other, so you're down only the qualifying loss.
  3. If your team goes two goals up, the bookmaker pays your back bet as a winner. If the match then ends in a draw or a loss, your lay wins too. That's the comeback the offer pays for. Most of the time it doesn't happen, and you keep the small qualifying loss.

With Pro, we watch every match on our list and alert you the moment a close match appears, and again the second a team goes two up, while the lay is still there. A free account gets the calculator and the Friday 2UP watchlist.

Questions

What is a good 2UP rating?

A rating near 100% means the back and lay are almost the same price, so the qualifying loss is small. Our default filter starts at 97%.

Which bookmakers run 2UP?

Several UK bookmakers run an early payout when your team goes two goals up. Terms differ, so read each one. The alert names the bookmaker.

Is the 2UP a sure thing?

No. Most 2UPs end in a small qualifying loss. The offer pays twice only when a team goes two up and then doesn't win.
